So last night was supposed to be the night. The one we all dream about. Anybody who plays DFS regularly knows what I’m talking about. GPPs are a constant grind that usually leave you just hoping to break even about an hour into the slate. But not last night, last night was different. I had it and I ruined it. Then I proceeded to torture myself as I stayed up to watch CJ McCollum drive dagger after dagger into my heart with every feathery smooth 3-ball he drained. While Shaq, Chuck, Kenny and Ernie did their thing, a numbness seeped into my body that was unlike any feeling I had ever experienced in my 36 years on Earth. 2/7/19 will forever be the night that I took CJ McCollum out for Trae Young at 6:45PM after deciding that McCollum and Lillard couldn’t both have big games with Nurkic healthy. That wonderful moment of clarity cost me a cool $99,908.74 in profit.
How do I process this? How do I move forward? I’m not quite sure I have the answers to either of those questions but there is one thing I do know; I will be back at it tonight. And the good news for me is that I am 100% certain that it is physically impossible for me to make the same mistake again; not because I have actually learned anything from this experience but because the Hawks and the Blazers mercifully have the night off!!
Resilience and mental toughness is the key to this game and mine is being put to the test right now… I need a hug
